Great marriages don't just happen; couples create them! Marriage Encounter has been celebrating, enriching, and saving marriages in MN, surrounding states, and beyond since 1972; that's over 50 years!! Marriage Encounter is a gift to a good marriage and huge help for those in struggling marriages.

Mary C Jackson

We moved to Stillwater in 1981 and fell in love with the city immediately! My sister and I brought Gertie Gorilla Grams to the area in 1981 and ran the business for about four years. During that time I was also a tour guide for Old Town Tours and worked part-time at Amodt's Apple Farm.
My husband and I made our Marriage Encounter in February of 1976 in Milwaukee, WI. It was a transforming weekend for us therefore, we got involved as volunteers immediately. When we moved to MN in 1981, we became volunteers with the local Marriage Encounter Community. After 17 years of volunteering with the MN affiliate, I became Director of MN Marriage Encounter in July 1998.
Observing the incredible impact the weekend has on a couples relationships keeps me motivated to stay involved.
