Youth Alcohol & Drug Program

The Sunrise Rotary Club will host a broad-based Youth Alcohol & Drug Program. A symposium will be held from 1 - 4 p.m. on Friday, September 21 in the Stillwater Junior High School auditorium. Invitation letters have gone to business leaders, school and school board members, parents, prevention and control agencies, clergy and government officials. A Sunrise team has already visited the Chamber. This first meeting is to have community leaders define the problem, both in the community and in the schools, then develop plans to solve it. This meeting will be followed by others for a long-term attack on the problem, which may get worse as federal funds are reduced by school drug counselors.
