in conjunction with their
50th Operational Anniversary Celebration!
Xcel Energy invites you to tour its King plant electric generation facility which is celebrating its 50th operational anniversary on September 6, 2018. King plant underwent a significant rehabilitation in the early 2000s as part of Xcel Energy's MERP (Metro Emissions Reduction Project).
This plant was the model for a successful and growing peregrine falcon restoration effort, as the first plant in the nation to place a falcon nest box on its stacks.
Please join us for a tour so that we can share with you how Xcel Energy is always delivering clean, reliable and safe electricity along with a whole lot of community involvement.
After your tour, Xcel will have an Anniversary celebration going on with the Tot Boss and Steven D's food trucks & refreshments. They will have a short program at 1:45 with a Chamber Ribbon Cutting at 2:00 – you are welcome to join us for all of the festivities!
